Very early on in my life it became clear that just going through life wasn't an option. It was quite natural for me to challenge myself, take risks and stay curious in order to keep growing. Equally, a subconscious trait of mine has always been to try and help others as much as possible, to make those around me feel good and always strive to create a positive environment.
It was only when training to become a certified life coach with New Insights that I learnt all of this was linked to my personal life values and the 6 Human Needs and perhaps two of those in particular: Growth & Contribution.
Aside from being convinced that in my own life I will continue to grow and that via coaching I am able to expand on my contribution, I am also a keen supporter of charity organisations that are close to my heart.
Over the last decade I have supported WellChild and MacMillan by running the London Marathon in 2007, 2010 and 2012 with firm plans to run it again in 2020. I'm currently in training to run the Asics London 10K in support of West Kent Mind in July 2019.
From 2019 onwards I have decided to donate 5% of the profit from JK Coaching to three selected charities or organisations that all have deep meaning to me personally and they are:
MacMillan Cancer Support - Mind|West Kent for better mental health - Mandalao Elephant Conservation (links to all of them in their logos above)
